Creatures and hull cleaning

Today I cleaned my hull with a plastic putty knife. There were all sorts of creatures attached. But one that fascinated me was a white, tubular shaped animal. Looked like a slug. Anyone have any idea what it was? This is in San Diego Bay so I am sure they are common here on the South West coast.

Without a photo, I'd have to say a sea monster!

I don't have an underwater camera. However, I plan on getting one just for that very reason. But I agree, they are monsters. :D
