Skipper; Hi My name is Edward, I live in Sarasota Florida. I am very much interested in buying a Lancer powersailer, assuming I can find one???
Anyway I've seen many pictures and I like the Idea of sailing quietly and relaxing at sea And being able to power up and make speed to get to your destination quickly when nessarry.
I would like to know your personel input about how you like your boat. What is the performance numbers @sail and@power/sail; I have read the boat can take up to a 150hp motor, but the boats ive seen usually have about a 50hp or so. Another issue for me is draft, In the south gulf of Mexico especially in my area coastal waters are very shallow a 5' draft is very problimatical, did Lancer make any powersailer boats with a shoal keel??
Thanks ED e-mail "lindayar@verizon.net"

Ed, the L29 PS is a pretty rare bird. Draft is about 5'3" from what I can find. The 27 draws a foot less, if that helps, and is easier to find. From the time I spent perusing this site while I owned a Lancer 25, I can't recall many power sailers with large outboards any more. Most owners seemed to have given up on that aspect in favor of a small outboard and just sailing them.

If you are looking for power sailer with a shoal keel you may wish to consider the new Hunter Egde 27 they just came out with. They have a very shallow draft with the keel up. See the link below. BTW, I have no affiliation to Hunter, nor do I own one (I have an S2).
