Headsets and Mics?

Spring is just around the corner and so is better weather. In fact, the first day of Spring is Friday. That means more time out on the water and more time on the air over the weekends. And that brings me to my question. Has anyone had good luck with a set of headphones and a mic, especially for the Icom M802? I'm trying to head off the static about the static.

I asked Bob Heil, and he promised to get back to me. Never did. I guess the marine market is not that big. Right now I am using the stock mic and my Ipod headphones with an mono plug adapter.

I purchased the Heil Pro set with the IC element. I get great reports with it. I use 60 on the mic gain for the stock mic and 32 with the Heil. ALC is good no clipping. The IC element was made for Icom radios and it delivers a punch.
