I just bought what was described to me a an "Ocean Yachts 17" but could not find any info whatsoever under this name. I just happened to come across an ad for an Islander 17 and there she was!! Does anyone have any information on the boat? Especially a manual, brochure, or any other kind of documentation. I will gladly reimburse you for your effort. Also any pictures you may have or a web site you can point me to.
Thank you,

Dan,
If what you have has a hull identification number that starts with XYX, then you have an Islands 17, not an Islander which is a power boat. If you have the original sails, then the insignia on the sail should be a Y inscribed inside a circle with the model number. Ocean Yachts that made the Islands sailboats back in the 1970's is apparently no longer in business. I have an Islands 20 that I bought about four months ago and am working it back into shape. I sorry that I don't have any decent pictures. Everything is covered with tarps because the front hatch is missing and the companionway cover leaks.

If you do have an Islands 17, drop me an e-mail, and we can compare notes.
