I am preparing to make a cross country trip from VA to CA in December. If anyone has any "lessons learned" on rigging the boat/trailer for the long haul I would appreciate the help. I have not had to tow the boat very far since I have had it so any tip will be helpful.

If I were you I'd take my trailer in to a shop and have the brakes thoroughly checked, perhaps the bearings re-packed or replaced, the tires checked, etc. I've had no trouble with my trailer, and I attribute that to regular maintenance. "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. "Also, be sure to carry a spare tire mounted on a wheel.
