Running bilge pump while under way

is it ok to run my bilge pump while underway? i seem to have a fair amount of drip coming form my stuffing box that fills my bilge fairly quickly. on a longer motoring trip, is it ok to run the bilge pump to empty the bilge while motoring?

That's what the bildge pump is for, no issues running it underway.
You might want to adjust the drip on your stuffing box, sounds like its letting in too much water.
