Saturday of Labor Day weekend fine, light winds, daysailed off of Chicago out of Monroe Harbor. Sunday, had 10 people on boat, no wind closer than 3 miles out. Monday, 20 kts wind and small craft advisory. Lord help those taking a 3-day cruise over the weekend! Could anywhere be as fickle as Lake Michigan?

Sailed Sunday out of Winthrop harbor from 9 A.M. to 1:30 p.m. 13 knot winds. Best sailing of the year. Went out at night, flat as a pancake and winds out of the North at 13 knots. Had the lake to ourselves. Spectacular sailing for us. Did get very windy and gusty on Monday. We have been going out in the mornings as past two weeks the only good winds were between 10 a.m. and 2:15 pm and then they would just die. Chris Festina Tarde, Hunter 340
