View Full Version : Capri 18
The size of my truck and driveway had a lot to do with my choice of boat (Capri 18). Anything over 19 Ft would be too large, for my way of trailer sailing. I find the 18 to have adequate room and facilities for up to 4 adults. I do sail mainly on lakes, though, which means very little rough water. The boat is fairly easy to setup, launch, and takedown.

We bought our son, who is a 15 year old avid sailor, a Capri 18 about a yearago. He (we) sails on the Chesapeake Bay and find the Capri 18 (she's named Molly) alot of fun. His has the wing keel and we have sailed her in everything from 4 foot seas to nearly calm. It's not a good boat in very lightwind, but alot of fun with a good breeze. What's more fun is I get to sit backand relax while my 15 year old, who is a lay-about at home, takes charge and does most of the work.A good starter boat that we strongly recommend. Catalina builds reliable boats.
