A. Would be difficult to convert a MK1 to Mk3 as the MK3 is 7" longer,has less ballast and a taller rig. B. I believe some Mk1 models came with wheel steering as an optional extra. You could adapt the rudder tube to accept a stuffing box and the required underdeck tiller arm to allow for pedestal steering. Suspect the cost would be pretty high.
