The archives for comments on cabin heaters is rather incomplete. SIGMAR, TAYLORS, and DICKENSON make bulkhead diesel models for small/medium boats. The Dickenson seems rather large, but well made. the Sigmar is more compact, otherwise very similar. The Taylors is the most compact, and I believe is double-vented, (intake and exhaust) but more costly. Many boaters in these northern latitudes would appreciate a word of advice from experienced users of diesel heat. Cruising World magazine had a recent article on cabin heaters in general (Oct. '01.) I am mostly interested in a bulkhead heater, probably 5000 BTUs.
