I Don't know if posts are censored or if you all are just considerate but I'm new here and want to thank everyone for using the list as a means to dissiminate (sp?) pertinent information rather than as a chat list (see catalina-list@sailnet.com for an example). My prop is also folding and it's a portside rodeo when I'm trying to get moving in reverse.

Posts aren't censored here - unless, of course, they're just offensive. I don't remember ever having a complaint about any posting on any of our forums, even the shared ones. It's great to have you here - look forward to your input!LaDonna
I like your clear depiction of the reverse problem we all seem to experience when backing our boats up. My 36 and everyone I know has a different way of solving it. The common conclusion seems to be to give sufficient r.p.m.s to get momememtum then throttle down and place in neutral and steer the boat to starboard or hold her in the line you want to go. I usually am conscious of this problem when aquiring a new tempory birth and sometimes back in rather than backing out. I also am observant of currents and wind conditions and try to use them to my advantage....I hope this helps! regards..............Gary
