View Full Version : Those little plastic things?

On my main & roller furling 130% Genoa there are little plastic gizmos that look sort of like a cleat (but don't believe they are) mounted low on the leech near the tack. There also seems to be a short length of thin diameter line lying along the leech just near it. One could surmise that the two are related somehow. Anyone have a clue as to what they are and do? Or how to effectively use them? And under what conditions? Thanks --Ron

Watch the leech of the sail, if it flutters (it won't do this unless you are in decent wind) pull on the little rope, then fasten it in the cleat when it stops fluttering. It keeps your sail from flapping in the breeze, and helps it last longer. I know performance is an issue too, but I'm more of the cruising type...
