Don- I'm not sure where I read it but I do recall that you are not a fan of the loose footed Main. Is this True? If so, please explain. I'm reading your book now and I would think that a loose foot would allow greater ability to control sail shape with the outhaul. I'm currently looking to buy a new main and almost every loft I talk to tells me to go loose footed. Dave

Dave, I just bought a new head sail and main. The new main is a loose foot and I love it. I added a travler track and car to the boom for outhaul control. It is SWEEET. I also added some serious downhaul. Talking about infinite draft control! Going down wind I can really get a full main with that outhaul. I am no sail trim expert by no means but after sailing ten years on a boomless Nacra 6.0 catamaran, it was a no brainer to go to a loose foot main. Ted
