Bob: This stuff looks kewl. I have my doubts about it strength after 12 months in the sun. It would probably be fine for a boat that does not spend it life in the sun. I had some Poly line (cannot remember the company) that I purchased at the Pacific Sail Expo a few years ago. They had these kewl devices that allowed the line to be looped with splicing an eye.... Anyway, they claimed that the stuff would hold up in the sun. Well it did better than the yellow poly line that is used for ski tow rope but I would purchase it again. It is hard to beat three strand for dock lines. They last longer than we sometimes would like them too and the price is good when you buy them on sale. They have some samples available. Maybe you should order the samples and leave them in the sun for then next year and let us know!!!

Has anybody heard of or used the Polypro lines advertised by My Ropes? Check out there link below.

My recollection is that polyprop is sensitive to UV. Having said that, tons of commercial boats use it. Nice looking set up, but a tad pricey. Rick D.
