We used Regatta Baltaplate for years which was very good but switched to VC17 which we found to last as well or better and was probably a little faster bottom and burnished great!
Sooo, what are you folks using on the bottoms of your boats to get a super slick fast bottom and still have some sort of anti fouling?? Since the season is fast approaching when we'll all be working furiously in the boat yard(northern hemisphere) trying to get the bottom ready and launched I figured it might be time to hear what our skippers are doing to minimize that dreaded drag!!
How many coats of VC17 do you apply per year and how do you apply? spray or roll? Do you have a barrier coat below the VC?
On the 260 we use no anti foul.Just polish her up every month or so.Mmmm one of the advantages of having a yacht on a trailer
Yep, I guess dry sailing is the best way to keep the bottom clean and fast, but that's too big a job for my 35.5 to relaunch twice a week. If only there was a way to wrap the bottom after returning from combat that could easily be removed the next trip out.
