Here we go loop-de-loop?

I bought new sail ties and they came with a loop in the end. WM advertises that the loop is twisted to make it easier to open the loop. I have simply been tying the tie like I do my shoes and damn the loop. I just can't figure out how you are supposed to use the loop.If there is a faster and cleaner way, please explain.

I put the end without the loop through the loop and snug up the amount I want by pulling down then just put a slip knot like 1/2 of tying a shoe!Works for me.

I bought some sail ties that are elastic straps with velco on one side. They work great and make wrapping the sail in strong winds a snap.
