With my recent boat purchase came a Doyle Boston #1 Genoa. Can you help me identify the materials constructing this sail. I understand it was new in 2000. It is an off-white glossy material with grey strands running through it. If we can identify the contruction, perhaps you can help me by summarizing what performance I can expect from it. Thanks in advance. Chris

Chris, I checked with the Doyle Boston loft and they are familiar with your boat. The material is a Pentex laminate from Dimension/Polyant and the sail is one one our TRT designs. Less expensive than Kevlar, Pentex is a high-performance polyester fiber and is used in One-design boats such as J105's and is popular with performance oriented cruisers and club racers.
