Does anyone have any thoughts on replacing the companionway cover on my C 23-T?

I just purchased a Columbia T23 and I will have to replace my companionway cover and am interested in any replies you may get. Also I need a tiller, any ideas?

I am currently making a whole new companion way hatch for my Easterly 38. I have studied the better hatches on fine boats such as the Hinkleys and Shannons. I am making a teak sliding hatch cover. The materials have been relativley cheap (under $150). I enjoy wood work and am taking my time. White me back and I'll send you pictures.
