Hi- I now sail a Mac26X but am looking to upgrade within the next year to a Columbia suitable to live aboard with the wife. I previously went out with a friend on a 38 foot Columbia a few years ago and was very impressed with the boat(around a 1970 +or-) Is a 36 comfortable and roomy enough for living aboard, and what years seem to be the best bet? We expect to pay maybe $35000 to $40000,(or less) if possible. Appreciate any comments from all you Columbia owners, and if you get down in the South Florida area be sure to send me an e-mail. Hi I own a Columbia C-36 which is a center cockpit. We live aboard and are very comfortable. The salon is a roomy, the Captain's Quarters aft are spacious. Since there is a from the salon to the aft cabin both on the galley side and on the head side, there is only room for one person to walk through at a time. Other than that it's great. You can see pics at www.aaproducts.com/Columbia.html. Good luck.

I too have a Columbia 36. However my draft is 5'5" and I do not have a center cockpit. I would really like that, but I never heard of a center cockpit C36. I'm in Blatimroe, where are you? Cam Whetstone

I just bought a columbia 36 and Im living on it. The boat has adaquate space for everything I need, plus a huge cockpit for enertaining. The only complaint I had was the poor interior lighting of which is a easy fix. Good luck
