Hi all, I've never raced but want to one day so applied for PHRF from local rating agency (Lake Lanier PHRF). Stock boat w/ std 2 blade prop came back at 204. Same agency rates an h30 base at 186 and h31 @ 165. I think this is good for me, but am curious. Is the 310 so poorly considered by the racing community?. In moderate to high winds I can usually exceed hull speed and do okay in lower wind speeds. Looking purely at specs such as waterline, displacement, sail area and related performance ratios the 310 compares favorably.

Is it just me or isn't getting a PHRF rating that's possably to high sort of a good thing?

...and the highest PHRF is often at the top provided they took all the cruising gear off the boat. Yes, I think it's a good thing. It's like the 184 PHRF assigned to H31 where I am.

.... and I had to appeal my rating to get it from a 189 to a 198, and I have a 1989 H27-2...
