Bring lines back to the cockpit

I'am planning to bring the lines back to the cockpit. Everything has gone well till I tried to buy the blocks for the mast step. Iam told these blocks are no longer made, but have been repalces with a Pin (stud) and nut. The pin and nut don't fit. Other than a shackle to a block, does any one have a suggestion.

The shackle attached to a block may not be such a bad idea. I've sure seen that done on plenty of boats before.
