Hello Peggy,What cleaning products do you recommend for the head that are compatible with K.O.? We don't want to kill the bugs in the holding tank, but would like to know what can be used to keep the bowl clean and tidy. Thanks,Allan

...Our own "C.P. Cleans Potties!" which is available from BOAT/US and this site's online store. C.P is the only bowl cleaner that cleans bio-enzymatically, without chemicals that kill bacteria. It's also the best drain and sump cleaner you'll ever use too...it not only destroys odor on contact--the enzymes "eat" hair, soap scum, body oils, etc that accumulate in hoses and sumps to clog 'em.

Peggy,Thanks for the information on CP. Its time to get West Marine on board as a supplier. They sell KO (that's where I bought mine). Might be a good marketing strategy to sell them together as a complete cleaning system!Allan

If the sump is accessible to scrub, scrub it out with C.P. and a sponge or a brush. If it isn't, turn off the sump pump, put a healthy dose of C.P. down the shower drain and let it stand a while...then turn the pump back on, drain and rinse thoroughly with fresh water. Since your sump will prob'ly remain a bit damp, a good squirt down the drain after each weekend (or once a week if you're a liveaboard) will keep it clean and smelling good and the drain running free...'cuz the enzymes in C.P. "eat" grease, body oils, soap scum, hair etc. Use it in the sink drains too...just a squirt down each one once a week.
