I am not familar with the style of cleats on the bow of our C30. Rather than having one cleat on the centerline with guides on each side, there is a cleat on each side of the bow. Is there a different method of securing mooring lines to these side mounted cleats than if there was just one cleat on centerline? Once I loop the mooring line around the cleat do I need to lash it some how with a smaller line? Any info would be great. Thanks CM

Form a loop by splicing or using a bowline. Pass the loop through the center of the cleat and pull it back over the cleat. Or, you could just tie a cleat knot at each cleat.

If your cleats are like mine (83, Cat 30) the holes are too small and my mooring lines too large to pass through the center hole. I use another small line for extra security.

Would it be worth the work to remove the two cleats on the sides and replace them with guides and than install a new cleat on the center line?
