I just bought this thing and now I'm worried about the gasoline engine, should I be ????

You fail to learn--and religiously follow--the "rules" for safe maintenance and operation of gas engines and fuel. At least 90% of powerboats have gas engines...if they can do it without blowing themselves up, you can. All my boats have had gas engines and gensets, btw.
