I'm having difficulty backing my 415 ketch. Due to prop torque, she pulls to starboard and is impossible to back straight. Conversely, if she starts swinging to port, no amount of wheel correction will pull her straight. Is there a rudder modification that will correct this?

Ahoy John;Sorry but that is just the way things are. Sailboats don't back for crap. There is a trick that will give you some steerage though. When you back down get your baot moving in reverse and then put it in neutral. With the water moving over the rudder without the prop messing things up you will be able to turn the boat.Go out and try it it really worksFair WindsCap'n Dave
