I desperately need to get a bimini top for my 299. I love the outdoor weather right now, but when the summer gets here that sun is hot!! I found the site for boatcovers.com and it looks good, but i don't know what dimensions I need for boom clearance, standing height, etc...If you have a bimini top for your 299 and are happy with the dimensions, etc. please let me know what the diminsions are. Length, width and height would be helpful and where you mounted yours would also be helpful. Thanks very much for your time...

... just measure your boat and be sure what you order will fit? My guess is that this is 5-min task....

SeaBee,I didn't notice any info pertaining to sailboats on the Boatcovers.com site. I'd be inclined to look for a company that specializes in sailboat bimini's. The better ones will tell you what dimensions you need, if they don't have the measurements on file. I'm not familiar with your boat, but mounting is generally fairly far aft on the coamings, then distance from coamings to boom, with allowance for clearance, width from coaming to coaming, and length front to rear. Maybe a little longer than five minutes, but not much. Ask a dockmate if you can take a close look at their setup. It's pretty much the same from one boat to another. If it's economically feasible go with stainless frame, and Sunbrella fabric. Anything less will be disappointing in the long run. Google "Sailboat Bimini" Larry WilsonRichmond,Va.
