View Full Version : mast raising helper pole
i am looking for the button that fits in the end of the helper pole to raise the mast on my sailboat. if not the button, possibly, the dimensions to get one made. mine was taken out of my vehicle.

In a perfect world you'd have a tool steel or stainless pin 6" long and 5/8" in diameter. I just bought a 5/8" galvanized bolt of about that length and cut off the head, which has worked fine. Fair Winds, Jeff s/v Windward 1978 Chrysler 27 #481

I never got the pin So I dug into the tool box and found a metric deepwell socket wroks just fine. Make sure it is snug in the mast and not to snug in the boom, if not you spend a good time getting it out of the boom.
