We went for our maiden sail today. This O'Day 27 is a dream come true. When my SO and I moved to the Gulf Coast (from Missouri) in '81, I dreamed of owning a sail boat. I waited far too long. This is my first boat ever, and the first time that I have sailed anything larger than my 14' AquaCat. She handled wonderfully. Perhaps I have been waiting for just this beauty. I AM IN NIRVANA!!! Oh, does your post bring back memories! Dicovering sailing is such a powerful feeling, and sailing your own boat for the first time... well, that's a lifetime memory. thanks for sharing it here!
I know the feeling and its been some 23 years ago for me. After about a ten year break we are about to launch our new/previously owned O'Day 30 tomorrow afternoon. Your 27 was a close second for us. Very nice, manageable boat. So, best of luck Jim. You're gonna love it more every day.... Fair Winds, Jim
