I am considering purchase of a Balboa 26...I know little about this boat but like the idea of placing it on a trailer 5 months a year to save slip fees. I plan to primarly single hand it and need to know: is it a stiff hull not given to excessive heeling; do they sail and motor easily; any problems with blisters, etc with '78 year model ? Any other information on these boats would be much appreciated. Thanks and fair winds!

Definitely stiff hull....she bites hard even on a beam reach under strong wind. Obviously how much sail you have on matters....Excluding extremes "never too much wind, just too much sail...I love my Balboa 26...a 1984 model... Smooth Sailing

Hello Lane,I read that you are from Paradise. I used to live there and now am in Quincy. I belong to the Chico Y.C. and wonder if you have heard of it. It has a web site if you are interested. I have my Balboa 27, 1978 model at Alameda. Where are you keeping yours? If you are interested I sometime am in need of crew as I go down there to sail once a month or so.
