Catalina 400 steering adjustment

While underway, reasonably heavy wind/sea noise in steering "clunk." couple times. Do steering chains need adjustment already? Is "clunk" normal?

I had something like this on my 400 . the noise was from the autopolit.

My 380 (107) was dekivered with a clunk. A small adjustment fixed everything. Seems like this will ba an annual item.
