Ranger 26 tillerhead / tiller

Hi, 1971 Ranger 26. I'm looking to replace the tiller head and the tiller as both are near the end of their days. I can get a new laminated tiller no problem, but no one is overtly saying that their tiller head hardware is compatible with this model. Anyone done this and have any pointers to brands/makes? First time for me in this part of the boat so any comments really are welcome. Please refer to the link for photos of the existing tiller head (and the developing crack). The BC fir brackets were thrown together pretty quickly last season as a replacement for the older breaking things so please excuse their appearance. Cheers,-CB

shop and have the crack welded. It will be good for another twenty years. If the new tiller stock is too big it can be cut down . If it is too small pieces can be laminated on to make it bigger.
