We've had our '93 C30 for a year now and are just coming back from our first cruise. The only problem we experienced, other than storms, was the high noise level the engine produced. How can I sound-proof the space??? Thankx

There are a number of sound insulation sheets that can be used to reduce the sound level. Installing them will be difficult on your Catalina 30. The engine room includes locker space and abuts the galley sink. Select a material that is made for the application. Many foams will disintegrate when exposed to diesel fumes. This could result in sections of the foam being ingested by the engine. Your's is an interesting project, but it can be done.

Hi Kevin: West Marine has kits that you can buy to insulate the engine and reduce noise. Good Luck Melody
