On a recent survey on my 1969 Mistal 33, the marine surveyor insist that shut off valves be installed on the thru hulls for the scuppers. The scuppers thru hulls are about 3" above the actual waterline. Has anyone else with a Mistral or other boat with internal scupper hose been advised to do the same. Would anyone know what the regulation is concerning internal scuppers.

Roger My '71 Mistral had what I assumed to be original hoses with shut off valves, when I purchased the boat in 1986. I assume the reasoning for requiring valves is that even though they exit above the waterline they spend half of the time under water when under sail. Bob
