For my Catalina 310 with the 135 Genoa, can someone recommend the whisker pole they use? We just got this boat and my wife has forbidden me to take the old pole I have (heavy stainless and non-telescoping) onto the new boat. I was thinking of one of the West Marine models (from Forespar I believe), but looking in the Forespar brochure they recommend one that looks fairly heavier than I was thinking.

I've been using a Forespar HD 6-12 DL adjustable twist lock whisker pole http://shop.torresen.com/ships_store/index.php?p=details&mfc=Forespar&sku=406300&frm=g for years on our boat. It is definitely undersized according to recommendations, but it was left over from my previous boat, and I never bothered to replace it. It probably works because I only use it in winds under about 14 knots true.If I were to buy one now, I would get one that went to at least 16 ft, was a little larger diameter (the HD 6-12 DL is barely 2"), and that was line control instead of twist lock. Maybe this one.http://mauriprosailing.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=FOR401106&Category_Code=FORALUWPOL
