I am Currently in the process of buying a 1986 Catalina 30. The Boat is in Exceptional condition and has not one flaw It had been stored indoors since it was new. It includes many extras such as self tailing winches, dodger, bimini, trickle charger, roller furling, new manifolds, sails and much more. The boat has a 21 horse diesel which has 600 hours. The buying price is 28,600. Is this fair, or too much? (A recent survey stated the boat is in very good condition)

Seems like a reasonable price. Not a screaming deal but not over priced either. Check out our "Blue Book" & "Classified Ads" to find out how much others are asking for theirs. Good luck! LaDonna

In our neck of the woods -- Wisconsin -- that would seem to be an excellent price. What did your surveyor say? Also check the loan value with a lender.

You might get it down 1 to 2 K more to make it a better deal, but you won't get it for less than that. If it is really in good shape (survey agrees) then you got a good boat.

Hooper, If she is what you are looking for,get her surveyed and then jump on it. I have a 85 cat 30 and paid a bit more for her. She also was in good (almost great) condition. Have a blast.
