View Full Version : Spinnaker Aft Block Location
With the solid toe rail and no aft blocks for spinnaker sheet......what is a good approach to an aft block system. Can the toe rail be drilled out to allow a snap shackle.....anyone had success.

Tom,I have added attachment points (backed below decks) for the turning blocks on the side decks (near the stern)of my Bavaria 36 Cruiser just for this purpose. It works well, but you do have to add another deck "penetration" to do this. If sealed well, it is not a problem.Hope that helps,Tom Easterbrook
Think this would might be the only option........and a good one. Thanks for responding.....Great Lakes.
The only thing I would be concerned about regarding attaching a block to the toe rail is that it may be loosened (if it is the screw down type)and cause leakage through the screw (or bolt?) holes.Bill
