I need to find out what the length is of the compression post. Mine is two 2x4's nailed together. Something happened to my boat and I would like to replace it.

My post is an aluminum Pipe painted white which is not generally accessible but I got into the post compartment through an access for some wiring and measured up and down until I hit something; then I got into the bottom support area and made some measurement adjustments. The best I can tell my compression post is 6'-6&3/4"from the top of the base plate to the bottom of whatever I hit when I measured up. That's about the best I can do. Good Luck ---Joe
