Shaft seals

Hi, I'm new to this site as of now. Have owned a 1987 S2, 9.2C for three years. Until this vessel all my other boats had outboards. It appears that I need to re-pack the shaft seals, a job I haven't done before. Boat is on the hard at this time. Any suggestions on what to watch for and to accomplish this task?
