I seek advice re installation of the Nova Lift outboard engine lifting arm on a Catalina 36 MKII. I have a 15 HP Nisson which is just a little bit too heavy for me to lift on to the dingy with one hand. Has anyone actually mounted one? Does it work? Does the outboard swing out and away from the stern in useful manner? Where on the stern rail did you attach it? Did you install a backing plate? Which winch do you use? Does it take two people to operate?

I've seen people who use a simple block & tackle system (like a preventer) attached at the end of the boom to lift the motor off & on the stern rail. It's a little more work but if you already have the setup, it's free! LaDonna
