who builds twin keel or shoal draft sail boats?

Who builds twin keel sail boats? I recently aquired an abandoned 29 foot shoal draft , or twin keel, sloop. everyone in the boat yard thinks it was built in england because of the extremely high and low tides there. When the tide goes out this boat sits upright on the keels. I have found no builders plate or numbers in or outside of the boat. I hope some of you might know the mfg. fiberglass hull, allum mast. I will try to get pictures posted

English-built Hunter?

See Related Link for a "bilge keel" discussion of the English-built Hunter. There is a thread on the "Boat Design" website with some pictures also: http://www.boatdesign.net/forums/showthread.php?p=33269

Twin Keel

There are two twin keel boats in my moorage and they are both 23ft. "Clippers". I was invited to sail on one of them tomorrow. I'm looking forward to it.

Lots of options

Twin-keeled boats are quite popular in southern England and northern France because of the many harbors that dry out at low tide. The wind tends to be fairly strong, so the increased drag can be overcome by the sails fairly easily, to provide acceptable performance. (These are NOT high-performance racing boats, but generally smaller weekend cruiser types.) Besides the English builders, Jeanneau, Beneteau and Kirie have all made many models with twin keels. A newer variation is a double -in-line keel that is supposed to offer shallow draft with less better performance than the twin-keel design. I believe Etap makes these. With so many possible builders, if you're still trying to identify your boat's model or manufacturer, we're going to need a picture.
