Interesting story about a Catalina 22 which sank in 4' to 5' of water and was recovered! Story and pictures in link below: Lucky for them the water was only 4' to 5' deep!

I assume it was a hazard to navigation where it sank or the owner was otherwise legally required to get the boat out of there. Otherwise, I can't imagine why a salvor (who is entitled to a percentage of the value of a boat they rescue) would voluntarily spend all that time and money to raise a boat worth about $5000. Likewise, if it was the owner behind the rescue, he would have to pay a towing company/salvor way more in fees than the boat was worth.

From reading the article, I suspect "Deaton's" is the marina/boat yard contacted by the owners to pick up the boat.

It looks more like 3' of water... or that guy's really tall...




Our small boat is allegedly unsinkable due to some foam-filled flotation chambers. But I don't think anyone's put it to the test.
